A Leader of Leaders

Leadership Solutions–a GOFORWARD Case Study
Leaders are found at all levels in the organization–our HR contact agreed with us fully on this. No attention had been paid to leaders–at any level – in quite some time, frustrating the HR lead enough to reach out and talk to key stakeholders about it and to do something about it.

Senior execs had been busy–very busy–meeting increased customer demands with reduced resources. Managers and supervisors did as they were told - or did what they thought was the right thing to do. There was little discussion across levels, across groups. Top down direction–get it done–was the culture in place.

And then–a new leader came to town. The new leader formed a strong partnership with HR and decided to change the culture. They formed a team of internal and external experts–including 2 of us from GOFORWARD–to shape the future of leadership in the organization.

We had the opportunity to participate in designing a comprehensive leadership development strategy for an organization of 4000+ employees (500+ leaders at all levels). Needs were assessed, strategy established, goals identified, appropriate leadership concepts/models/techniques were identified.

We designed, developed, delivered training programs, staff meetings, leadership strategy & planning sessions to hundreds of executives, managers, and supervisors, teams–across the organization. We have watched–and helped - as leaders built skills, worked together, engaged staff, worked across departments. The senior group operates much more like a team; mid-level managers use two-way communication; first-line supervisors are involved; staff members are more frequently engaged.

All GOFORWARD principles have been involved in coaching, facilitating, developing various programs for the organization since implementation of the leadership curriculum.

The relationship between GOFORWARD and the client organization continues–in a partnership we are proud to have.
