Your Visual Impact

There is much debate about the use of (or overuse of) slides in the workplace. Who hasn’t attended a workshop or meeting where you were PowerPointed to death? Sitting in a low-lit room, midmorning (or even worse – after lunch) looking at the 100th slide showing more content than any brain could actually comprehend? Attention lost, opportunity lost... PowerPoint itself is not the problem*. When used in moderation and with brevity, it can be a reliable, useful tool to impart your message. I strongly believe in a visual aide for a meeting or workshop to drive engagement and impact. Maybe you want to freshen things up, try new things? What are you using to elevate your audiences visual experience while making sure you still drive the point home? There are a lot of new choices out there – Prezi, 280Slides, the Presentations component of Google Apps. While I wouldn’t advocate throwing PowerPoint to the wolves, consider using new tools to enhance your visual approach. Let us know what new presentation styles you’ve been using - we’d love to hear what works for you (and doesn’t). Here is one example of GOFORWARD using something new - use the play button to click through our presentation.
